Overview
Dubai Marina is a district of towers built around a man-made canal, with the beach and promenade of Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) alongside and Bluewaters Island just offshore. It suits families, couples and groups who want a beach within walking distance and plenty of places to eat.
It gives you the sea without losing the city: the Metro and the Dubai Tram connect the Marina with the rest of Dubai, and Palm Jumeirah is next door. Many travellers split their stay between here and Downtown.

Dubai Marina and Bluewaters: good to know
How many nights do I need?
Three to five nights, or split a longer stay between the Marina and Downtown.
Do I need a visa?
Most Kenyan passport holders need a UAE visa arranged before travel. Since 25 June 2026, Kenyans with a valid residence permit from the US, UK, an EU country or several others can get a visa on arrival. We check your eligibility before booking.
How do I get there from the airport?
About 35–45 minutes by road from DXB. The Metro Red Line also reaches the Marina, and the Dubai Tram runs along it.
When is the best time to visit?
November to March for the beach and outdoor dining. Summer is very hot but cheaper.
Is it good for families?
Yes. The beach at JBR, apartments with kitchens and nearby water parks make it one of the easiest areas for children.
