Overview
The Schengen area covers 29 European countries, including France, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. A short-stay Schengen visa is valid across all of them, which makes it the natural choice for city breaks, touring holidays, business trips and family visits.
Planning starts with the application. You usually apply through the country of your main destination, or the first country you enter if stays are equal, and your bookings need to match what you submit. We plan the route and the paperwork together.

Schengen Europe: good to know
Which country should I apply through?
Usually the country where you will spend the most time, or the first country you enter if your stays are equal. Our Schengen visa guidance explains the detail.
How long can I stay?
A short-stay Schengen visa allows up to 90 days in any 180-day period, within the dates on the visa.
Is travel insurance required?
Yes. Travel medical insurance is a standard requirement for the application, and we arrange cover that meets it.
When is the best time to go?
May to September for weather; April and October for value. Apply early for summer.
Does the visa cover the UK?
